How texts, emails and AI usage are billed

A plain explanation of what uses credits and how top-ups work: no surprises.

What uses credits

Sending and receiving texts, sending emails, using AI features, making calls and renting your Roofers Lab number each use a small amount of credit. Text messages are billed by segment, so a long text can use more than one credit, and that includes texts that come in, not just the ones you send. A text still uses a credit even if it doesn't get delivered, since the credit covers the attempt to send it, not a guaranteed read. Calls are billed per minute. Everyday use is cheap; heavy texting or a big ad push naturally uses more.

Why it matters to a roofer

Texts, calls, emails and your AI assistant aren't free-unlimited: they draw against a balance, so it pays to understand how that works. It's why the number, the balance and the auto-top-up exist in the first place: think of it as fuel for the lead pipeline, not a surprise bill.

How top-ups work

Your account keeps a running balance, backed by the card you have on file. As you use texts, email, calls and AI, the cost comes out of that balance in real time. When it drops below a set threshold, your account tops itself up automatically by charging that card, so your number never stops working mid-conversation. You can see your balance and adjust the auto-top-up amount any time.
